Alumni That Connect Students To The Real World

Kirk Merchant, 2010 Graduate

Owner of Merchant & Rhodes, State Street Barbers, and Andre’s Barber Shop

Initially, Kirk’s father told him not to become a barber. After completing a degree in Computer Science, he ended up working for the family business, and going back to school at Denmark. He loves the creative and social aspect of his career as the owner of barber shops across Chicago.

The key to success in this business is consistency. Make sure that you are consistently on time, give consistent experience to your customers, that’s it, it’s that simple.
