In a unique twist on the popular No-Shave November movement, Denmark College has unveiled its Free-Shave November campaign. This initiative promises not only a fresh shave for participants but also a chance to contribute to a noble cause.
For each shave offered free of charge during November, the college pledges to donate $2 to the renowned V Foundation, a cancer research organization. Founded in 1993 by the late Jim Valvano, legendary North Carolina State University basketball coach and broadcast sports commentator, The V Foundation awards 100% of direct donations to cancer research and related programs.
The Free-Shave November initiative serves a dual purpose: It provides hands-on experience for the college’s barbering students and underscores the institution’s dedication to community support.
With campuses in Chicago and Merrillville, Indiana, Denmark College has long been recognized for its commitment to top-tier education in barbering, cosmetology, and medical assisting. Their comprehensive and multicultural vocational college educates future barbers, cosmetologists and medical assistants through programs designed to arm students with the expertise they need to shine in their chosen careers.
When class sizes are extremely large, it’s tough for students to get the attention they deserve. But that’s not the experience at Denmark College where personalized skills-based training is prioritized.
Aaron Young, the director of the Chicago campus, emphasized the college’s student-focused approach. “At Denmark College, our education is ‘you-centric.’ We’re deeply invested in ensuring every student benefits from individualized attention and support. Our programs are flexible, adapting to the unique needs and aspirations of each student,” said Young.
Doing what you love is more than a possibility, it’s a reality.
Megan Guess, the director at the Merrillville campus, highlighted the college’s mission. “We’re not just about imparting skills. We’re about turning passions into professions. Our blend of practical training and theoretical knowledge ensures our students are ready for rewarding careers in high-demand industries they’re passionate about.”
Denmark College’s vibrant student community is a testament to its inclusive ethos. The institution prides itself on creating an environment where students from diverse backgrounds converge, learn, and flourish. This rich tapestry of cultures and perspectives enhances the learning experience, equipping students to navigate the multicultural professional world with ease.
